The music of Lee Shapiro, which consists of a variety of styles and genres. I would appreciate if you "liked" or commented on any of the songs you enjoy.
My favorite kinds of music is the kind that surprises you. While I enjoy conventional type songs (verse, chorus, verse chorus, bridge, chorus), I prefer songs that take you on an adventure. This includes jam songs (Grateful Dead), and songs with many detours and lots of dynamics (Rickie Lee Jones, Dave Matthews). Although most of my songs tend to fall into some kind of normal verse/chorus formula, I do tend to try and mix things up a bit. Which is why most of my songs last longer than 4 or 5 minutes.

Story behind the song
The second of two songs comparing today's music to the music of the 60's and 70's. Sort of a continuation from "The New Keepers". A more personal perspective about getting older, trying to keep up with today's music scene, and still loving the songs we grew up with. And feeling out of place at rock concerts, with an ever growing younger crowd.
Lyrics
When you’re young you don’t worry about things Living life as it comes A little older now and you start to think About all the things you haven’t done Well my friend it’s been a long ride When the road isn’t always so smooth The fears you get are now harder to hide When you come face to face with the truth The years move faster than ever before Time is your master but you ask for some more The songs don’t hunger like years ago The crowds are younger, it’s a whole new show Playing for the song, that makes you feel young again Playing for the song, like a long, long lost friend It’s time for fun, let your hair down No time for heavy thoughts The rhymes begin with a playful sound You can be the carefree sort Rock and rolls and roll your rocks Whatever it takes to get it done Pound the keys and blow your socks off We’re gonna have some fun The years move faster than ever before Time is your master but you ask for some more The songs don’t hunger like years ago The crowds are younger, it’s a whole new show Playing for the song, that makes you feel young again Playing for the song, like a long, long lost friend Playing for the song, no strings attached except for guitars Playing for the song, let’s take a trip to the moon and Mars
