Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

This really isn't what I expected. Wow, what a musical journey. Heaven forbid, that I ever had be 'under some chemically induced coma', in a hospital...then this is the kind of soundtrack that I'd hope to have running. Yes, there are touches of Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream and perhaps even Arjen Lucassen here...but this is something even better than all those influences. Fantastic. Even your slightly unsettling story about hearing the tune on hospital radio is good. A Station add for sure.

The Smivets is a band that gives me confidence. Confidence that any time I click play on a song be it new or old that I'm about to make my ears happy. Inventive, with a solid, even weighty sound. This is the real deal, progressive rock that looks forward while recalling the past with integrity.

Great cosmic sounds from your hand, Steve! The intro synth and the repeated bass pattern makes and me think of my old heroes, Tangerine Dream. The vocals and the guitars give a Floydish touch, but still it is all very much The Smivets. Wonderful work!

Love the depth of sound to this track, the atmosphere is sensational...reminds me a lot of the late 60's prog rock bands. Great guitar work...and that vocal one-liner is very, very powerful - gets right into the soul. Nailed it good and proper with this track.

Really one of my favorites here on the Challenge. It's taking you right from the beginning in it's waltz.
It's dark, powerful and relaxing at the same time. I like the use of the organ here, guitars are just sublime and I like the way your vocals come in.
Yeah, something special, the way I like it.
