Story behind the song
First, I am a God fearing man. But there are some Televangelists who tend to spend 10 minutes on a message about giving and then spend the next 45 to 50 minutes begging for money. They give the illusion that salvation is for sale and project that their priorities are in your wallet/pocket-book instead of your soul. This song is meant to be humorous and is not referring to all Televangelists.... only the crooked ones who "make merchandise of the Gospel.... and.... the trusting sheep. Lighten up. It's comedy. No Offense Intended (NOI).
